TGS Media was built through experience, risk, and results not theory.
Before founding TGS Media, Peter Te Hau spent three years working at the Rotorua courthouse. While stable, the role made one thing clear: he wanted more responsibility, more challenge, and a career where outcomes were directly tied to effort. That drive led him to apply for medical school, where he was accepted and relocated to Dunedin.
Like many students, financial reality hit quickly. To support himself, Peter started a side hustle running Facebook ads for local businesses. What began as a necessity quickly became an obsession. While studying medicine full-time, he taught himself marketing, psychology, and paid acquisition, testing, refining, and learning through real-world execution.
His first client was a local Dunedin gym. The results were immediate and measurable. More leads. More members. More revenue. That moment clarified everything: the same discipline and problem-solving mindset required in medicine could be applied to business growth with faster feedback and greater impact.
Peter made the decision to leave medical school and commit fully to building a performance-based marketing business. That decision became the foundation of TGS Media.
